What is PLAiR?

PLAiR apps let you play photos & videos from your laptop, phone, and tablet on your big screen TV using the PLAiR device.
What can I do with PLAiR?

PLAiR apps let you search, discover and curate online videos that you can beam to the TV wirelessly. You can even beam videos/photos from your phone/tablet gallery.
What shows can I watch?

You can watch shows and online videos from partner channels on plair.com/channels and in the channels area on the mobile apps.

You can even beam videos from other websites to your TV using PLAiR. Some of the great video destination websites are listed under Bookmarks.

The websites under bookmarks are just some of the websites you can beam videos from.
We're constantly adding more channels and bookmarks, so check back often.
Can I watch Netflix or Hulu?

Hulu and Netflix are not supported on PLAiR, yet.
Can I watch my iTunes shows?

iTunes content is exclusive to Apple. Only Apple devices can play Apple movies and TV shows
Does PLAiR work with Android?

Yes! PLAiR supports all brands of Android devices running Android version 2.3 or greater. For the best experience we suggest using an Android ICS device with PLAiR
Does PLAiR work with iPhone & iPad?

Yes! All iPhones/iPads running iOS 4.2 or greater are supported
Does PLAiR work with my Macbook?

Yes! MACs running MAC OSX 10.6+ are supported
Does PLAiR work with my Windows laptop?

Yes! Windows Laptops running Windows XP or better are supported
How can I find if my mobile OS or laptop OS is supported?

Here is the full list of compatible OS:

Android 2.3 & above.
iPhones & iPads (iOS 4.2 & above).
Windows XP & above.
Mac OSX 10.6 & above.
How can I get the PLAiR app?

You can download our free app from Google Play or Apple's App Store.
On laptops, go to PLAiR.com to download the free browser extension.
Does PLAiR work with Windows Phone or BlackBerry?

Windows Phone & Blackberries are not supported, yet.
How I can find if my TV works with PLAiR?

PLAiR works with all TVs that have a HDMI port.
Does PLAiR work with TVs that are not smart TVs?

Yes. PLAiR works with all TVs that have a HDMI port.
My phone / app cannot find the device?

Simply scan again if you cannot find your PLAiR device. If the problem persists reset the PLAiR device by unplugging it and plugging it back in. Then try scanning again.

My phone or tablet cannot connect to the device?

Why do some of the videos play in non-HD quality?

There could be two reasons why this might be happening.

1. You are trying to play a video that is only available in low resolution OR
2. The Internet connection is too slow for HD videos. PLAiR selects the best video quality that can be played with your internet connection.
Why do some videos I took with my Phone play in the wrong orientation?

Videos taken in portrait mode or when the phone camera is upside down will play in their original orientation.
Why do I get the notification that "Conditions are not optimal to play high definition videos from this mobile device. Try connecting to the PLAiR device directly by opening Wi-Fi settings on your mobile device."?

Your connection to the PLAiR device is too slow to play high definition videos. To resolve this, connect directly connect to the PLAiR device by following the steps below.

1) Exit the PLAiR app and open Wi-Fi settings on your mobile device
2) Select the Wi-fi hotspot with the name "PLAiR-XX"
3) Open the PLAiR app again
4) Beam your personal video

Why do I get the error message "Wi-Fi seems really slow. Online videos may not play properly."?

Your Internet connection is too slow to play online videos. To resolve this, check your Internet connection by following the steps below.

1) Using a computer or mobile device, connect to your router
2) Open a browser and go to speedtest.net
3a) If the page does not load, then your Internet is not working
3b) If the page loads, then test your Internet connection speed by clicking "Begin Test"
4) If your Download Speed is less than 1 Mbps, then your connection is too slow to play online videos If the problem doesn't resolve, contact support at support@plair.com.
I get the error message "The PLAiR device is in use." What's wrong?

Someone else is connected to the PLAiR device. Only one person can use the PLAiR device at a time, so you will have to wait until the other person exits the app before you can connect.
